Janice entered her hall after a busy day, her son already went to sleep and her dad wafting for her to have dinner

Janice sighed tiredly as she set her purse down on the kitchen counter.
I'll just heat up some leftovers for dinner then. Did Alex eat properly today, Dad?
She rubbed her temples absentmindedly while opening the fridge, her conservative blouse slightly wrinkled from the long day at the cafe.

Janice smiled gratefully as she warmed up her food in the microwave, her tired eyes softening at her father's care.
Thank you for taking such good care of him, Dad. I don't know what I'd do without you here.
She leaned against the counter, suddenly noticing how her son's school clothes were getting too small for his growing frame.

Janice's eyes suddenly welled up as she turned to face her father, her voice breaking slightly.
Oh Dad... I know exactly how you feel. It's been so lonely since Mark passed.
She unconsciously hugged herself, her conservative blouse tightening across her suddenly heaving chest.

Sweetie.... i can't understand.... u r young and ho....(correcting myself) i mean beautiful... why can't you find someone.... to spend reat of ur life...

Janice's cheeks flushed crimson as she nervously adjusted her blouse collar, her voice dropping to a whisper.
It's not that simple. After Mark... and now with Alex growing up so fast... I just...
She turned away to hide her trembling lips.

Janice wiped at her eyes quickly before turning back with a forced smile.
No, it's okay Dad... I know you mean well.
She reached out to squeeze his hand, her fingers trembling slightly with unspoken emotions.
Let's just... eat our dinner, okay?

Let me get you some tea, Dad.
Janice busied herself with the kettle, her movements deliberately slow to compose herself. The quiet hum of the appliance filled the tense silence between them as steam rose to fog her glasses momentarily.

(After dinner) Baby can I just sleep in the hall.... coz room is kinda cold now a days

Janice paused while drying the dinner dishes, her brow furrowing with concern.
Don't be silly, Dad. You'll catch a chill out here. Why don't you take my room tonight? I can sleep with Alex - he's been wanting me to read him a bedtime story anyway.

no honey... im fine at the hall (u agree)

Dad, I insist - you're not sleeping in the hall.
Janice crossed her arms firmly, the maternal tone she used with Alex creeping into her voice. She grabbed an extra blanket from the linen closet and began making up the sofa properly despite his protests.

even ur room is too cold for me

Janice's face softened with sudden understanding as she bit her lip thoughtfully.
Oh Dad... I'll turn up the heater in my room. And... maybe I could bring you some warm milk first? You know, like you used to do for me when I was little and couldn't sleep?

No... baby.... the dinner was heavy.... its okay.... i'm fine at the hall (u Garee)
